SC admits for regular hearing Khadija Siddiqui appeal plea against acquittal of Shah Hussain
LAHORE: Supreme Court (SC) has admitted for regular hearing appeal plea filed by Khadiaja Siddiqui against acquittal of the accused Shah Hussain and maintained the further proceedings in the case will be conducted after summer vacations.
The court directed the accused Shah Hussain to file surety bond valuing one lac rupees .
A two members bench of SC headed by Justice Asif Saeed Khosa took up for hearing appeal plea filed by Khadija Siddiqui on Wednesday. Through this appeal plea high court decision on acquittal of Shah Hussain has been challenged.
Khadija Siddiqui and Shah Hussain appeared in the court along with their lawyers.
Justice Asif Saeed Khosa inquired what was reason that Khadija Siddiqui and her younger sister leveled charges against Shah Hussain leaving all others.
When inquired by the bench it was informed that Khadija Siddiqui and Shah Hussain are both law students.
Justice Asif Saeed Khosa pointed out that the incident took place during day time. Had there been a night time then there could have been some room for doubt.
