UK rejects Pakistan plea for deporting Ishaq Dar
LONDON: UK has rejected Pakistan plea for deporting former finance minister Ishaq Dar.
Pakistan had requested British government to deport Ishaq Dar but this plea has been rejected.
British government while rejecting the plea took the stance that there is room in law on this count but no extradition treaty exists between Pakistan and UK. Pakistan should formally contact government in this connection.
Ishaq Dar and his wife who are living in UK at present were holding diplomatic passports which have been cancelled by foreign ministry. Report in this regard has also been filed in Supreme Court.
According to law it was binding on Ishaq Dar to return his and his wife diplomatic passports within 30 days after quitting his office. Later they were to be issued general passports.
