Sindh govt bans swimming in sea for 30 days
KARACH I : Government of Sindh has imposed a ban on swimming and bathing at Karachi’s beaches for 30 days.
According to a notification issued by home department on Friday, “the government of Sindh to ensure safety of public lives and to prevent any untoward situation due to drowning in sea has imposed a ban on swimming/bathing at the beaches within the territorial limits of Karachi division for 30 days with effect from September 17, 2018”.
Earlier, Commissioner of Karachi has sent a letter to the authorities mentioning that a large number of general public is expected to visit the different beaches of Karachi division for swimming/bathing and there is apprehension of loss of lives due to high tide in the sea. Therefore, he has requested to impose ban under section 144 Cr.P.C. to protect human lives and avoid any tragic incident.
The SHOs of all relevant police stations have been authorized to register complaints under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code against violators of this notification.
