HIV aids spread­ing fast among vil­lagers around Hy­der­abad: 50 found pos­i­tive, 5 dead

HY­DER­ABAD: Hu­man Im­mun­od­e­fi­ciency Virus(HIV) Aids was spread­ing fast in ru­ral vil­lages of Hy­der­abad Tehsil. A team of health depart­ment con­cerned vis­ited these vil­lages and af­ter screen­ing half the pop­u­la­tion aban­doned the task by leav­ing for Karachi. Ac­cord­ing to screen­ing of 500 vil­lagers car­ried out by Aids team 50 were found pos­i­tive out of whom 5 peo­ple have died. But the health teams left the af­fected peo­ple with­out pro­vid­ing medicines to them and pro­ceeded to Karachi. Ac­cord­ing to in­for­ma­tion col­lected by this scribe, teams vis­ited Wanki Wasi, Tando Saeed Khan, Gul Ba­har Mari, Ch­hal­gri vil­lage, Ha­tri, Shah­dad Brohi and oth­ers in all 38 union coun­cils and car­ried screen­ing of more than 500 vil- lagers. News of spread of HIV Aids virus has sent wave of fright among pop­u­la­tion so much so that chil­dren have left go­ing to schools while bazaars and mar­kets of small towns like Ha­tri etc were bear­ing de­serted look. Sor­row­ful as­pect of the sit­u­a­tion is that dis­trict ad­min­is­tra­tion and di­rec­tor gen­eral health ser­vices Sindh with his of­fice in Hy­der­abad has taken no no­tice of alarm­ing sit­u­a­tion.
