HIV aids spreading fast among villagers around Hyderabad: 50 found positive, 5 dead
HYDERABAD: Human Immunodeficiency Virus(HIV) Aids was spreading fast in rural villages of Hyderabad Tehsil. A team of health department concerned visited these villages and after screening half the population abandoned the task by leaving for Karachi. According to screening of 500 villagers carried out by Aids team 50 were found positive out of whom 5 people have died. But the health teams left the affected people without providing medicines to them and proceeded to Karachi. According to information collected by this scribe, teams visited Wanki Wasi, Tando Saeed Khan, Gul Bahar Mari, Chhalgri village, Hatri, Shahdad Brohi and others in all 38 union councils and carried screening of more than 500 vil- lagers. News of spread of HIV Aids virus has sent wave of fright among population so much so that children have left going to schools while bazaars and markets of small towns like Hatri etc were bearing deserted look. Sorrowful aspect of the situation is that district administration and director general health services Sindh with his office in Hyderabad has taken no notice of alarming situation.
