Universities urged to provide better education and training to youths
KARACHI: Veteran businessman and former vice president of Karachi Chamber of Commerce & Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Khalid Tawab asked the universities to give priority to better educational and training facilities to youths in accordance with their mental aptitude. He said that today our youths, seeing the popularity of a particular field, are getting admissions in its degree program in large number without any consideration, but they are ignoring the fact that if the demand for young people with degrees in this field decreases in the job market in the future, they will be disappointed. Therefore, when enrolling in universities, students should choose professions in which they can easily get a job or start their own business. This he stated while he was talking to the faculty members of Mohammad Ali Jinnah University, Karachi (MAJU) during his visit of the University yesterday . On this occasion, he also visited to university library, labs, class rooms and recorded interview to MAJU educational radio station FM 97.6. During his discussion with university teachers, Khalid Tawab emphasized to establish an effective link between Universities and Trade & Industry sector, so that talented youths may be provided to Trade & Industry sector to fulfil the job market requirement, which will help to reduce unemployment problem among our youths. He said it is the right time to provide talented manpower by our universities to work inside and outside of the country to improve soft image of the country.He urged the students to refrain from dreaming of becoming rich overnight as it takes a lot of time to get a better position. He said that it is true that at present due to rising unemployment among the youth of the country, their frustration is notonly increasing but most of them adopting wrong path and increase in cyber crime is also an important factor in this regard which needs to be addressed. Khalid Tawab was of the view that future of Pakistan is very bright, therefore, government should gain the confidence of the trade and industry sector to increase national production, so that more people can get employment opportunities.
