‘Mera Pak­istan Con­fer­ence 2011’ held in Karachi

‘Mera Pak­istan Con­fer­ence 2011’ was held by the Karachi Cham­ber of Com­merce and In­dus­try (KCCI) and the Old Stu­dents As­so­ci­a­tion of the Gov­ern­ment Col­lege of Com­merce and Eco­nom­ics (COMMECS) at Mar­riot Ho­tel, Karachi on March 11 and 12, 2011.

Mera Pak­istan is a dream pro­ject that is meant to por­tray the real pic­ture of Pak­istan as a land of im­mense op­por­tu­nity and di­ver­sity. COMMECS Pres­i­dent Asif Arif, said, “The aim of the event is to dis­pel mis­con­cep­tions about the coun­try and high­light the achieve­ments of Pak­ista­nis in var­i­ous fields over the years.”

Prom­i­nent per­son­al­i­ties such as Dr Sa­mar Mubarak­mand, Dr Ishrat Hus­sain and Aqeel Karim Dedhi spoke at the evenr, which in­cluded pre­sen­ta­tions on de­vel­op­ments in the coun­try’s con­ven­tional in­dus­tries such as tex­tiles as well as on emerg­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties in al­ter­na­tive en­ergy and cor­po­rate agri­cul­ture. Panel dis­cus­sions fo­cused on self-em­ploy­ment and im­prov­ing eco­nomic con­di­tions.

Af­ter as­sess­ing its suc­cess in Karachi, or­ga­niz­ers plan to take the con­fer­ence to other cities as well
