En­ter­prise has duly high­lighted the story on trade lib­er­al­iza­tion be­tween In­dia and Pak­istan in the May is­sue. The long si­lence in the af­ter­math of 2008 Mum­bai at­tacks was hav­ing a neg­a­tive im­pact on the econ­omy of both coun­tries. Pak­istan in par­tic­u­lar is in ma­jor need of di­a­logue and main­te­nance of free trade re­la­tions with In­dia be­cause it needs fast eco­nomic re­cov­ery af­ter the floods of 2010.

The vo­lu­mi­nous trade from which the mar­kets of both coun­tries can ben­e­fit should be the main tar­get. There is also a need for po­lit­i­cal bal­ance to re­store healthy trade re­la­tions with In­dia. The in­for­mal ex­change be­tween peo­ples and cul­tures across the bor­der in­di­cates that there is a de­sire to con­nect
