Enterprise has duly highlighted the story on trade liberalization between India and Pakistan in the May issue. The long silence in the aftermath of 2008 Mumbai attacks was having a negative impact on the economy of both countries. Pakistan in particular is in major need of dialogue and maintenance of free trade relations with India because it needs fast economic recovery after the floods of 2010.
The voluminous trade from which the markets of both countries can benefit should be the main target. There is also a need for political balance to restore healthy trade relations with India.
