De Oro Zara or Golden Zara has introduced an exclusive line of Thai furniture in Pakistan. Located near the shrine of Abdullah Shah Ghazi in Clifton, Karachi, the outlet offers a fabulous choice of furniture creations.
Zohair Bhadelia, who has launched the venture, extensively surveyed all the furniture markets in Karachi before bringing in the Thai range and offering it at affordable prices.
Most of the items were imported from Chiang Mai, a place situated in the north of Thailand. The collection includes rattan, rosewood and teak bed sets and tables and even a huge bed made from an elephant trunk. A vast assortment of Buddha statues and Thai wall hangings and lamps also adorn the place.
Bhadelia decided to import Thai furniture when he realized that there was an increasing demand for Far Eastern furniture across the world.
“The store will be open as long as I am able to import furniture from Thailand,” he says. Encouraged by the response of customers in Karachi, he plans to take the display to other cities of Pakistan as well
