Towards better banking

Enterprise - - Editor’s desk - Ajmal Shaikh Karachi

It appears a promising way forward for Pakistan’s banking sector to find eminent figures like Shaukat Tarin so deeply dedicated to the uplift of the country’s economy. It has been a whole learning experience of going through Shaukat Tarin’s elaborative interview; undoubtedly he has played a key role as Finance Minister and now as head of a fast-growing bank. It is highly pertinent for our economy that the banking sector is offering competitive financial products to serve the public. I also look forward to the Islamic banking window that Silkbank plans to offer. Silkbank is truly contributing to the welfare of society. With the pace with which Silkbank is engaged in product portfolio expansion, I do not see any obstacles in its successful diversification. The progressive ideology of Shaukat Tarin and his associates is commendable. His deep experience and intellect should be utilized as a potential resource growth for Pakistan’s banking and financial sector
