Tex­tile City Project – pre-launch event

Pak­istan Tex­tile City Lim­ited or­ga­nized a Project PreLaunch event. Fed­eral Min­is­ter for Tex­tile In­dus­try, Makhdoom Sha­habud­din was the Chief Guest on the oc­ca­sion. Oth­ers in­cluded lead­ing tex­tile in­dus­tri­al­ists, for­eign diplo­mats and heads of tex­tile as­so­ci­a­tions.

The event gen­er­ated keen in­ter­est in the Tex­tile City project. The Tex­tiles af­firmed that Tex­tile City would be a key to the re­vival of the tex­tile sec­tor in Pak­istan and would help to en­hance ex­ports. The Min­is­ter of­fered com­plete sup­port from the gov­ern­ment in mak­ing the Tex­tile City a bench­mark in­dus­trial zone.

The CEO of Pak­istan Tex­tile City, Za­heer A Hus­sain briefed the gath­er­ing on the de­tails and cur­rent sta­tus of the project lo­cated in the East­ern In­dus­trial Zone at Port Qasim. Com­mence­ment of sales of plots from mid-July 2011 was also an­nounced on the oc­ca­sion.

Za­heer A Hus­sain said the launch would boost the growth of value added tex­tiles in Pak­istan and ben­e­fit lo­cal and for­eign in­vestors to ef­fec­tively op­ti­mize their re­turn on in­vest­ment. Ad­vi­sor to the Prime Min­is­ter on Tex­tiles, Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig and Ad­vi­sor to Chief Min­is­ter of Sindh on In­vest­ment, Zubair Moti­wala pro­vided ad­di­tional de­tails about the project and its ex­pected im­pact on growth of the in­dus­try
