Nes­pak se­cures global projects

The Na­tional Engi­neer­ing Ser­vices Pak­istan (Nes­pak) se­cured 110 new engi­neer­ing projects worth Rs. 546 bil­lion through an in­ter­na­tional com­pe­ti­tion dur­ing fis­cal 2010-11.

Ac­cord­ing to Nes­pak Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor Asad Khan, the new for­eign projects in­clude power projects in Saudi Ara­bia, roadwork and re­ha­bil­i­ta­tion of wa­ter dis­tri­bu­tion net­works in Oman, seven school projects and other civil engi­neer­ing projects in Qatar and ir­ri­ga­tion and drainage projects in Ethiopia.

Among the ma­jor projects signed by Nes­pak in Pak­istan are the Iran-Pak­istan Gas Pipe­line Project, restora­tion of flood af­fected ar­eas through­out Pak­istan, a 747 MW com­bined cy­cle power plant at Guddu, a mul­tipur­pose dam project in Bara, ex­ten­sion of M-4 Mo­tor­way from Khanewal to Mul­tan, a fly­over at Kalma Chowk in Lahore and the Sheikh Zayed Med­i­cal Com­plex in Rahim Yar Khan
