FPCCI in strength­en­ing Pak-china re­la­tions

The Fed­er­a­tion of Pak­istan Cham­bers of Com­merce & In­dus­try (FPCCI) is en­gaged in pro­mot­ing Pak­istan’s exports to China. Un­der the um­brella of FPCCI, 42 ex­hibitors par­tic­i­pated in the 12th Western China In­ter­na­tional Fair (WCIF) in Chengdu in Sichuan Prov­ince, at­tended by more than 40 coun­tries from Asia. Ac­cord­ing to Tariq Say­eed, former Pres­i­dent of FPCCI and pa­tron-in-chief of Pak-china Busi­ness Coun­cil, “The fair has in­deed helped in pro­mot­ing Pak­istani ex­port prod­ucts in Chi­nese mar­kets, which will even­tu­ally help in re­duc­ing the gap in trade with China.”

The Sichuan sub-coun­cil of China Coun­cil for Pro­mo­tion of In­ter­na­tional Trade (CCPIT) has es­tab­lished Sichuan In­ter­na­tional Com­mod­ity Dis­play Cen­tre at the World Trade Of­fice build­ing ad­ja­cent to the FPCCI Chengdu of­fice, which aims at pro­mot­ing Pak­istani ex­port prod­ucts in China. Tariq Say­eed, in a meet­ing with of­fi­cials of CCPIT Sichuan sub­coun­cil, re­ferred to the es­tab­lish­ment of the Dis­play Cen­tre as an im­por­tant step to­wards pro­mo­tion of Pak­istani prod­ucts in Sichuan prov­ince in par­tic­u­lar and in China in gen­eral.

Tariq Say­eed ap­pre­ci­ated the vi­sion of CCPIT for giv­ing greater mar­ket ac­cess to Pak­istan as well as South Asian coun­tries by al­lo­cat­ing free space for dis­play of Pak­istan’s ex­port prod­ucts. The Dis­play Cen­tre has spe­cial al­lo­cated area for busi­ness-to­busi­ness meet­ings wherein the busi­ness­men from Pak­istan would be able to meet their coun­ter­parts in China. The es­tab­lish­ment of Dis­play Cen­tre is in ad­di­tion to the FPCCI Chengdu Of­fice es­tab­lished in 2010, to fur­ther deepen PakChina re­la­tions
