In an address to the members of Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Bangladesh High Commissioner to Pakistan Suhrab Hossain said that Bangladesh is making strenuous efforts for strengthening trade ties with Pakistan.

He stressed upon the members of business community to invest in Bangladesh and enjoy the benefits of the country’s liberal economic policy.

Hossain pointed towards the need of establishing shopping links between Chittagong-karachi and air link between Dhaka and Lahore for accelerating the pace of export activities between the two countries. The exchange of trade delegations between the two countries is held as significant to help promote bilateral trade. Naeem Anwar Qureshi, President SCCI, said that it was high time to tighten hands and consolidate further trade relations for mutual growth and development prospects. Qureshi supported the proposal of expansion of bilateral trade between both the countries and stressed on the requirement of strong commercial shipping links with minimum shipping charges. The establishment of a strong network of SMES in the region was also focused in the address
