Engineering Week Pakistan 2012
‘ Engineering Week Pakistan 2012’ will take place from January 12 to 15, 2012 at Expo Centre, Karachi. The Engineering industry is at the core of development and growth for expanding the economy of Pakistan. Along with contributing about 18.5 percent of the overall GDP, this sector is playing a leading role in countering the effects of recent global economic turmoil by engineering expansion of the industrial base in Pakistan, thus creating new spheres of opportunity. In this regard, the government has earmarked US $37.88 million (2010-11) to facilitate the process.
The local industries are progressively adopting advancements in technologies and innovations, elevating their standards to become globally competitive. Total machinery imports of US $4.17 billion in 2010 and a total investment of over US $50 billion in engineering sector of Pakistan over the last 5 years speak volumes of the immense potential inherent in this sector, a testimonial that the sector is the driving force behind Pakistan’s surge towards the ranks of industrial nations.
Engineering Week Pakistan (EWP) is the well-oiled machine of Pakistan’s industrial renaissance. It has been a significant exhibition for the industrial sector, in particular for the Process Engineering, Electrical and Electronics, Foundry, Automotive, and Material Fabrication industries. EWP has proved to be the engineering highway, providing a fast lane to the rapidly evolving technological marvels of the dynamics of global industries.
The 6th edition of Engineering Week Pakistan features two dedicated exhibitions FAMTECH (International Foundry, Automotive and Metal Working Exhibition) and PRETECH (International Process Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Exhibition). Both are poised to showcase a wide array of latest equipment, machinery, systems and solutions to cater to the entire spectrum of engineering industry in Pakistan.
With over 160 exhibitors, representation from 10 countries and debut of Czech Republic in Pakistan with a dedicated Czech pavilion, Engineering Week Pakistan 2012 is bound to set a new international benchmark among B2B facilitation events.
