ICANN stands for Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers. This organization was established on September 30th of 1998. The main responsibilities of ICANN include the allocation and regulation of domain names, IP addresses, etc. This organization is also responsible for the distribution of protocol port and parameter numbers. ICANN also regulates and organizes the ever- growing and changing DNS server system.
