TCF School at Naya Nazimabad
Aschool of The Citizen Foundation ( TCF) has been opened at the Naya Nazimabad housing complex, located near North Nazimabad in Karachi. Naya Nazimabad has donated land for the school and has also helped in its construction.
Agha Maqsood Abbas, Director General, Lyari Development Authority ( LDA), who was the chief guest at the opening ceremony, said the purpose of opening a school at this location was to promote education amongst the underprivileged, especially in the neighborhood. Also present on the occasion were Sarfaraz Khan, Chief Town Planner of Lyari Development Authority ( LDA), members of the TCF team, sponsors of Javedan Corporation Limited and other stakeholders.
Arif Habib, Chairman, Arif Habib Group, said, “We are committed to uplifting education in our society, especially for those for whom it is unaffordable. This initiative is meant to provide opportunity to deserving and needy students.”
Appreciating the support of Naya Nazimabad, Agha Maqsood Abbas said, “It is our youth which will lead the country towards a brighter future and I am happy to note that Naya Nazimabad has taken the initiative to invest in them by supporting The Citizen Foundation. This initiative provides a platform to spread education among the deserving youth of the city.”
The TCF team presented a brief overview about the school as well as about commencement of classes, future plans and further expansion.
Naya Nazimabad is a residential project, designed to provide secure and affordable housing for the progressive middle class. It offers residential units, along with a wide range of amenities i. e. schools, colleges and university, hospitals and clinics, parks and shopping malls, etc. The project spans a vast area located close to North Nazimabad. It is a project of Javedan Corporation Limited and has been sponsored by a consortium comprising Arif Habib, AKD and Ghani Osman Hum Group.
TCF is a non- profit organisation that works to provide “quality education” to underprivileged children of the country. The organization is currently supporting 102,000 children with 730 schools at over 83 locations, that are maintained through donations from individuals and the corporate sector.
