-P&G opens Home in SOS Chil­dren’s Vil­lage -TCF School at Naya Naz­imabad

Proc­ter & Gam­ble Pak­istan has taken an­other step in re­al­iz­ing its Pur­pose of touch­ing and im­prov­ing Pak­istani lives through the P&G Home at SOS Chil­dren’s Vil­lage in Islamabad. The Home houses 11 or­phaned chil­dren who were af­fected by the dev­as­tat­ing earth­quake of 2005.

Shar­ing his thoughts on this ini­tia­tive, Omeir Da­woodji, Coun­try Ex­ter­nal Re­la­tions Man­ager, P&G Pak­istan said, “P&G is com­mit­ted to touch­ing and im­prov­ing the lives of Pak­ista­nis now and for gen­er­a­tions to come. The P&G Home at SOS Chil­dren’s Vil­lage Islamabad sig­ni­fies our com­mit­ment to give back to the Pak­istani com­mu­nity over the longterm by sow­ing seeds for a brighter fu­ture. We hope that this Home will pro­vide the 11 adorable chil­dren, who lost their loved ones in the earth­quake, a chance to live a nor­mal life.” He fur­ther added: “This is a mo­men­tous oc­ca­sion for P&G in Pak­istan as we are cel­e­brat­ing 20 years of faith­fully in­vest­ing in the com­mu­nity and bring­ing to life our cor­po­rate cause - Live, Learn and Thrive (LLT). Un­der the LLT um­brella, P&G cor­po­rate as well as brand pro­grams have reached over 21 mil­lion Pak­ista­nis to date.”

Su­raiya An­war, Pres­i­dent, SOS Chil­dren’s Vil­lage Pak­istan, said, “The pri­mary ob­jec­tive of SOS Chil­dren’s Vil­lages of Pak­istan is to pro­vide chil­dren de­prived of their nat­u­ral par­ents a sit­u­a­tion which is as close as pos­si­ble to a nat­u­ral Home. We are grate­ful to P&G for part­ner­ing with us in an en­deav­our to give the or­phaned chil­dren a nor­mal ex­is­tence by equip­ping them to suc­ceed in life.”

P&G has joined hand with SOS Chil­dren’s Vil­lages of Pak­istan which is a pri­vate so­cial wel­fare or­ga­ni­za­tion pro­vid­ing or­phans and aban­doned chil­dren a Home, good nur­tur­ing and an equal chance in life. These chil­dren will live un­der SOS care un­til they are able to lead an in­de­pen­dent life. This project is P&G Pak­istan’s first longterm com­mu­nity re­la­tions ini­tia­tive in or­phan-care.

The aim of this pro­gram is to ful­fill the pri­mary need of chil­dren de­prived of their nat­u­ral par­ents to be placed in a sit­u­a­tion which is as close as pos­si­ble to a Home. The P&G Home at SOS Chil­dren’s Vil­lage in Islamabad will pro­vide the chil­dren with se­cu­rity, love, care and help de­velop skills for life that will en­able them to thrive.
