Emirates workshop for travel agents

Emirates Airline hosted a special workshop for travel agents in Karachi recently. The ‘Travel Agents’ Product Update Workshop’ served to provide useful updates to travel agents from all over Karachi.

The workshop was designed with participants divided into nine groups with fifteen individuals in each group. The teams attended a range of soukstyle presentations made by the following participating departments: Corporate Team, Contact Centre, Skywards, Sales Support and Pricing, Airport Services, Finance, Ticket Office and Emirates Holidays. The objective of this interaction was to bring Emirates and the local travel industry together so that employees could meet face-to-face all those who are in communication with them all day via email and telephone. This would help employees streamline everyday business activities, share best practices and simply explain Emirates’ ways of working in a conducive and relaxed environment.

A large area decorated as a ‘souk’ or marketplace served as the networking area. Sharing his thoughts on this novel manner of communication, Badr Abbas, Vice President Emirates Airline Pakistan and Afghanistan, said, “Workshops like these do not only seek to inform but the purpose is to enhance interaction by putting a face to the name. Here, travel agents get to know Emirates personnel from various departments and interact with them on a professional as well as a personal level.”
