P&G thanks Moms
Procter & Gamble Pakistan has initiated an innovative movement titled ‘Thank You Maa’ to recognizes the important role mothers play in helping their children achieve their dreams and ambitions. In line with the global partnership between P&G and the International Olympic Committee, P&G announced its commitment to promote the spirit of sports and Olympics amongst the youth globally and in Pakistan.
Through this campaign, P&G will provide Pakistani mothers the opportunity to raise future Olympic athletes from Pakistan. On the purchase of every P&G product such as Safeguard, Pampers, Ariel, Pantene, Head & Shoulders and Always, a contribution will be made towards the development of sporting facilities in schools across Pakistan. It is estimated that in its first year thousands of children will use the facilities and equipment that is handed out.
“As a company, we will serve as the ‘Proud Sponsor of Moms,’ and pay tribute to the mothers of athletes, because behind every amazing athlete – elite or beginner – is an even more amazing mother,” said Faisal Sabzwari, Country Manager, P&G Pakistan. “For P&G, this partnership is about bringing together our Purpose of improving people’s lives and the Olympic Movement’s purpose of building a better world through sport. Through this purpose-inspired partnership, P&G is committed to touch and improve everyday lives of mothers, athletes and their families. With the help of our valuable consumers we will support the development of sports though the 1 pack = 1 contribution campaign.”
Sohail Abbas, Pakistani hockey star and world record holder of the highest number of penalty goals, is one of the key spokespersons for this movement. Sharing his thoughts on the P&G initiative, Sohail Abbas said, “I am very excited to be the spokesperson for this campaign as this gives me yet another opportunity to thank my mom who raised me to be the athlete and champion I am today.” He also said, “I request all Pakistanis to join this movement as this will enable P&G to elevate the level of sports in Pakistan giving our youth an avenue to use their energy positively. I am very hopeful that with this campaign we will be able to raise the passion for sports in the country and raise future Olympians.”
