The UK Visa issue
Mian Abrar Ahmad, President, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has emphasized that the KCCI’s recommendations be taken into account to issue priority business visas for the United Kingdom. While exchanging views with United Kingdom Border Agency’s Mandy Ivemy, Regional Manager for Gulf, Iran and Pakistan, the President of KCCI also asserted the positive consideration and timely issuance of visas to genuine Pakistani students who get admission in UK universities for their higher studies. He apprised the Manager UK Border Agency about the pivotal role of the KCCI in boosting the national economy and the Chamber’s vivid demand to bring about a paradigm shift in trade policies while emphasizing on regional trade instead of exports to USA and EU.
Mandy Ivemy also appreciated the role of KCCI in the socio- economic development of Pakistan. She said that Pakistan is the 5th largest country to apply for British visas. Pakistan was providing a huge source of revenue through Pakistani students studying in the UK.
