In my view, fashion has highlighted Pakistan globally as it has helped in projecting a softer image of our country to foreign investors.
Do you see a successful infusion of Pakistani culture in the Indian Market?
Being neighbours our cultural background has similarities, especially in clothing and textiles. I see a lot of potential for Pakistani lawn and all other products in the Indian market.
With the opening up of the Indian market to Pakistani products, how can industry in Pakistan benefit?
I think lawn has a very good potential in the Indian market. The textile industry would benefit tremendously from this.
How do you think Pakistani designers can compete with their Indian counterparts to make their mark?
Pakistani designers should make their products more accessible to the Indian market so the consumer could feel the diversity which our designers have to offer.
What response did you receivefrom the Indians at the Lifestyle Pakistan Exhibition in New Delhi?
I had an overwhelming response from the people.
Please elaborate on the quality of those Pakistani products that were well received in India.
Being a designer I could specifically comment on our own products. We offer best quality of fabric in terms of weaving, printing and embroidery. All those brands which had participated in the event had presented their best products.
Is there any way that we can also have such an event in Pakistan where Indian designers can showcase their products?
Indian designers are already making their presence felt in Pakistan through fashion shows and events. It would be a good idea if there is kind of exhibition for them to showcase their products.
