My Karachi – Oasis of Harmony
Younus Bashir, acting President, Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), announced the 9th international 3-day exhibition ‘My Karachi-Oasis of Harmony’ to be held on July 13-15, 2012 at Karachi Expo Centre.
KCCI is expecting to generate Rs. 20 million from the exhibition. The chamber has booked four halls of Expo Centre out of which hall No. 1 will have 27 stalls of Rs. 46.20 lacs. Hall No 2 will have a total of 28 stalls of Rs. 73 lacs, hall No 3. with 34 stalls of Rs. 46 lacs, while hall No. 4 will have 115 stalls of Rs. 15 lacs, majority of them reserved for women entrepreneurs to be given on discounted rates.
The chamber has designed “My Karachi-Oasis of Harmony Exhibition 2012” to act as the avenue for interactive (B2B) business-to-business linkages and (B2C) business-to-consumer relationship.
According to Bashir, the purpose of holding this exhibition was to introduce and popularize “Made in Pakistan” brand and negate the negative propaganda against Pakistan and show the world that this is a dynamic country.
Bashir said that Indonesia and Bombay Chamber of Commerce have confirmed their participation in the show while other countries including Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will be sending their confirmation soon. He said leading Pakistani companies and multinationals and foreign exhibitors will display their products at more than 200 stalls in four halls.
Siraj Kassem Teli, former President, KCCI and Chairman, Businessmen Group, said 500,000 to 600,000 people visit the exhibition in three days and this is open only for “families” and the entry is free. He said the resilient people of Karachi, Sindh Governor, provincial government, TDAP and diplomats extend their full support to this mega event which has become the identity of KCCI.
