Vietnamese trade mission calls on TDAP chief
Vu Viet Dzung, Head of Trade Mission, Karachi, called on the Chief Executive of TDAP, S.M. Muneer, at his office. Secretary TDAP, Ms. Rabiya Javeri Agha was also present.
Matters related to bilateral trade and economic relations were discussed. The TDAP Chief Executive complimented Vietnam for their excellent economic performance and growth through sheer hard work of the government and people of Vietnam after decades of difficult times.
Vu Viet Dzung expressed his desire to increase the trade volume between Pakistan and Vietnam. There was a huge potential for Pakistani products in Vietnam, especially in textiles, fisheries, pharmaceuticals, leather and surgical instruments. S.M. Muneer agreed to send a trade delegation to Vietnam to explore the markets. He asked the Vietnamese head of trade mission to provide a list of buyers in Vietnam to connect them to Pakistani businessmen.
Secretary TDAP apprised Mr. Dzung that a MoU was in the pipeline between the TPO of Vietnam and TDAP. The Authority would like to sign it in November 2014 so that both organizations could facilitate each other in trade related events. The Chief Executive extended an invitation to the Vietnamese business community to attend Expo-2014. He also agreed to lead a trade delegation in September to Vietnam on the sidelines of the Joint Trade Commission meeting between Pakistan and Vietnam, scheduled to be held from August 18 to 20, 2014 in Hanoi.
