Tex­tile in­dus­try’s en­ergy is­sues to be solved

The All Pak­istan Tex­tile Mills As­so­ci­a­tion (APTMA) Chair­man SM Tan­veer has ap­pre­ci­ated the as­sur­ance of Fed­eral Min­is­ter for Fi­nance and Eco­nomic Af­fairs Ishaq Dar to solve the en­ergy re­lated is­sues of the Pun­jab-based tex­tile in­dus­try.

The APTMA chair­man has said a del­e­ga­tion of APTMA ac­com­pa­nied by Min­is­ter for Tex­tile In­dus­try Ab­bas Afridi held a de­tailed meet­ing with Sen­a­tor Dar in Is­lam­abad and de­lib­er­ated in de­tail tex­tile in­dus­try prob­lems. Grave con­cern was ex­pressed over the sub­stan­tial de­crease in ex­ports of ba­sic tex­tiles dur­ing April 2014 to Au­gust 2014.

The meet­ing unan­i­mously agreed to take ap­pro­pri­ate mea­sures in or­der to stem fur­ther re­duc­tion. The fi­nance min­is­ter as­sured that steps would be taken to solve the en­ergy- re­lated is­sues of the Pun­jab- based tex­tile in­dus­try.
