Will 2016 be different?

Enterprise - - Letters - Malik Tariq Ali, Lahore.

Would it be too much to wish for our country to have a selfless leader like Quaid-e-Azam or Allama Iqbal? These were men of honour and dignity. They respected the people and tried to aid them in any way they could. Can the people of this country expect a proper system of law and order, and not just mere rhetoric? Is it not a mockery of our constitution and legal system that not even a single high-profile criminal involved in robbing the state of billions through corruption and land grabbing has ever been punished?

Why should any government be allowed to appoint individuals who have been accused of financial and administrative indiscipline? Why should this country spend so much on providing security to such rulers when the government cannot even provide basic necessities to its citizens?
