AIOU, TUF to coop in health sciences

FAISAL­ABAD— Al­lama Iqbal Open Univer­sity (AIOU) will es­tab­lish bi­lat­eral re­la­tions with The Univer­sity of Faisal­abad (TUF) in health sciences dis­ci­plines. A spokesman of TUF told here on Satur­day that Prof Dr Nazir Ahmed Sangi Vice Chan­cel­lor Al­lama Iqbal Open Univer­sity Is­lam­abad vis­ited The Univer­sity of Faisal­abad (TUF). Dur­ing a meet­ing with Prof Dr Ab­dul Karim Baloch, Pro Rec­tor TUF, and Prof Dr Ab­dul Ma­jeed, Di­rec­tor Qual­ity En­hance­ment Cell, he was briefed about The Univer­sity of Faisal­abad Cam­puses, Univer­sity Med­i­cal & Dental Col­lege, Mad­i­nah Teach­ing Hospi­tal and other wel­fare projects run­ning un­der the aus­pices of Mad­i­nah Foun­da­tion. Later, Dr Nazir Sangi also vis­ited de­part­men­tal labs of Univer­sity Cam­pus and var­i­ous de­part­ments of Mad­i­nah Teach­ing Hospi­tal. He ap­pre­ci­ated state-of-the-art in­fra­struc­ture and stan­dard of ed­u­ca­tion at TUF. He also showed keen in­ter­est in es­tab­lish­ing bi­lat­eral re­la­tions be­tween the two univer­si­ties in dif­fer­ent aca­demic dis­ci­plines, par­tic­u­larly health sciences. UAF to start short cour­ses: De­part­ment of Con­tin­u­ing Ed­u­ca­tion, Univer­sity of Ed­u­ca­tion Faisal­abad (UAF) will start 31 short cour­ses from April 1. A spokesman for the univer­sity said on Satur­day the cour­ses in­clude spo­ken English (evening), com­puter course (evening).—APP
