Youth killed in road mishap

SHEIKHUPURA— At least three per­sons in­clud­ing two chil­dren and a woman died while 16 oth­ers scorched due to burst of CNG cylin­der of a pas­sen­ger van here late on Fri­day. Ac­cord­ing to de­tails, the in­ci­dent oc­curred in Mandi Jab­ha­ran when CNG cylin­der of a Sheikhupura bound pas­sen­ger van coming from Hafizabad sud­denly ex­ploded.

The ve­hi­cle caught fire due to petrol tank in­stalled with the CNG cylin­der re­sult­ing in death of three peo­ple in­clud­ing two chil­dren and a woman. The po­lice and res­cue per­son­nel rushed to the scene of in­ci­dent and shifted the 16 peo­ple with burn wounds to District Head­quar­ters (DHQ) Hospi­tal Sheikhupura.

It should be men­tioned that CNG ex­plo­sion of cylin­ders are com­mon in Pak­istan as drivers don’t care about their qual­ity and over­haul­ing af­ter their guar­an­tee time­frame ex­pires. The po­lice reg­is­tered a case against the driver of the pas­sen­ger van and started in­ves­ti­ga­tions.

Sargodha: A youth died while two oth­ers in­clud­ing a woman were in­jured in car­mo­tor­bike col­li­sion in Bhal­wal po­lice lim­its on Satur­day. Po­lice said Muham­mad Aamer along with brother Yasir and mother Nizaran Bibi of Chak 62 NB was rid­ing a mo­tor­bike when a speed­ing car hit them near Chak 13 NB. As a re­sult, Aamer died on the spot while his mother and brother were in­jured. The car driver fled. Po­lice have reg­is­tered a case.—INP
