Youth killed in road mishap
SHEIKHUPURA— At least three persons including two children and a woman died while 16 others scorched due to burst of CNG cylinder of a passenger van here late on Friday. According to details, the incident occurred in Mandi Jabharan when CNG cylinder of a Sheikhupura bound passenger van coming from Hafizabad suddenly exploded.
The vehicle caught fire due to petrol tank installed with the CNG cylinder resulting in death of three people including two children and a woman. The police and rescue personnel rushed to the scene of incident and shifted the 16 people with burn wounds to District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Sheikhupura.
It should be mentioned that CNG explosion of cylinders are common in Pakistan as drivers don’t care about their quality and overhauling after their guarantee timeframe expires. The police registered a case against the driver of the passenger van and started investigations.
Sargodha: A youth died while two others including a woman were injured in carmotorbike collision in Bhalwal police limits on Saturday. Police said Muhammad Aamer along with brother Yasir and mother Nizaran Bibi of Chak 62 NB was riding a motorbike when a speeding car hit them near Chak 13 NB. As a result, Aamer died on the spot while his mother and brother were injured. The car driver fled. Police have registered a case.—INP
