No tol­er­ance to at­tacks on in­no­cent civil­ians, armed forces: Nawaz

Di­rects to ex­pe­dite for­mu­la­tion of anti-ter­ror laws

IS­LAM­ABAD— Di­rect­ing to ex­pe­dite for­mu­la­tion and pro­mul­ga­tion of anti-ter­ror laws, Prime Min­is­ter Nawaz Sharif on Mon­day said at­tack on in­no­cent per­sons and armed forces will not be tol­er­ated.

Chair­ing a high level meet­ing at PM of­fice to re­view process of anti-ter­ror laws, he said civil ad­min­is­tra­tion and the armed forces are on the same page to root out men­ace of ter- ror­ism in Karachi, FATA and PATA. He said a co­or­di­nated strat­egy will be adopted to de­feat ter­ror­ists. There will be no space for at­tack on in­no­cent civil­ians and armed forces. Those in­volved in th­ese crimes must be pros­e­cuted ef­fec­tively, he said.

The meet­ing was at­tended by Min­is­ter for In­te­rior Ch. Nisar, Chief of Army Staff Gen­eral Ra­heel Sharif, Chief of Gen­eral Staff Lt. Gen­eral Ash­faq Nadeem, DG ISI, DG MI and Sec­re­taries of In­te­rior and Law min­istries.
