67 gang­sters with looted valu­ables ar­rested: CPO

Dis­trict po­lice claimed to have busted 25 da­coit gangs and ar­rested their 67 mem­bers be­sides re­cov­er­ing looted valu­ables from them by trac­ing 256 cases dur­ing last two months.

This was dis­closed by City Po­lice Of­fi­cer (CPO) Mul­tan, Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry in a press con­fer­ence held at Con­fer­ence Hall Po­lice Line here on Mon­day.

The CPO claimed that po­lice have busted 25 da­coit gangs in­clud­ing Ghu­lam Ra­sool alias Chotto gang, Kashif gang, Furqan gang, So­hail alias Sa­hela gang, Iqbal alias Bala Tra­gar gang, Bi­lal gang, Za­far alias Ba­cho gang, Mazhar alias Mazhri raan gang, She­hzad alias Pheena gang, Ar­shad alias Achi gang, Iftekhar alias Us­tad gang and oth­ers. Po­lice have also ar­rested their 67 mem­bers and traced 256 cases by in­ves­ti­gat­ing them, he added.

He claimed that po­lice re­cov­ered looted valu­ables in­clud­ing 11 cars, two trucks, 15 mo­tor­cy­cles, six-tola gold or­na­ments, one lap­top, two mo­bile phones and Rs 140,500 in cash, to­tal worth Rs 20.93 mil­lions.—APP
