Call for restora­tion of gas pres­sure in Quetta

Peo­ple of Sariab area in­clud­ing women and chil­dren blocked the Na­tional High­way against low pres­sure of gas in the re­spec­tive ar­eas of Sariab on Mon­day.

Pro­test­ers also burnt tires on the road and chanted slo­gans against the ad­min­is­tra­tion and Sui South­ern Gas’s staff. Ve­hi­cles in­clud­ing trucks, pas­sen­ger buses and other ve­hi­cles were stuck on the road dur­ing demon­stra­tion. Pa­tients and pas­sen­gers faced hard­ship in protest­ing.

One of the pro­test­ers Muham­mad Qasim said that peo­ple are suf­fer­ing dif­fi­cul­ties in the very cold weather which had been recorded - 13C tem­per­a­ture in the pro- vin­cial cap­i­tal.

Muham­mad Arif added that peo­ple in­clud­ing chil­dren and elder per­sons are be­com­ing ail­ing and ill due to low gas pres­sure.

One of fe­male noted that they have been fac­ing dif­fi­cul­ties for three months due to very low gas pres­sure, adding that cit­i­zens had com­plained about the low pres­sure of gas with the SSGC again and again but gas au­thor­i­ties did not take steps to re­store for pres­sure of gas.

Nas­rul­lah Men­gal Said that gov­ern­ment should close CNG sta­tions for four months in win­ter sea­sons in Balochis­tan.—APP
