The people of area spotted an unclaimed polythene bag placed in the greenbelt beside the Park Road on Musharraf’s route and informed the area police, the sources said. The sources said police arrived and found a suspicious sack on the road near the National Institute of Health (NIH), Islamabad.
The BDS reached the scene and checked the suspicious bag. Five kg explosive material, two blasting caps, one switch, prima wire, two pistols, two magazines and two rounds were recovered from the bag.
Sources said that the explosive material was not attached with the detonator and it was not ready to be blown up. The BDS defused the explosives and cleared the area. A case was registered with the Shahzad Town Police Station and the police and intelligence agencies had initiated investigation.
