It is pertinent to mention that Prime Minister is also aware of the recent protest rally in Lahore arranged by Pakistan TehreekeInsaf led by Imran Khan against rising and unbridled inflation.

And on top of it, Mr Tahirul-Qadri is also using the inflation and corruption as card in accelerating its campaign against the incumbent regime. So, it is more likely that Prime Minister will not allow increasing the petroleum products’ prices.

The officials said, in the absence of the CNG as fuel in vehicles, the consumption of petroleum products has increased manifold in the country and the government is also in a fix as the oil import bill that has gone over $ 14 billion in last 2012-13 is liket to further surge by u to $ 15 billion. Pakistan costly foreign exchange reserves are being eaten by the import of fuel.
