Ijaz trying to use PTI as shield: PR

ISLAMABAD— Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Saturday said that MNA Ijaz Chaudhary, by joining Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has tried to use the party engaged in protests and sit-ins as shield himself from being convicted in the fake degree case.

Talking to a media person on Saturday, Pervaiz Rashid said that Ijaz Chaudhary’s leaving the party would not affect

the Pakistan Muslim LeagueN, because he was not given the party ticket for the last general election.

Ijaz had applied for the PML-N ticket, he added, but the party refused to do so. He was elected as an independent candidate and later on announced to join the treasury benches.

He said Ijaz Chaudhary probably thought that the PTI would be a safe haven for him to escape the Supreme Court decision. He had already been declared ineligible by election tribunals due to his fake degree and other disputed issues, said the minister.

“I congratulate PTI chief Imran Khan for addition of another spoiled egg to his basket,” he said. The apex court, he added, might take a decision about Ijaz’s stay order in coming weeks.

He said, “Imran Khan is doing the politics of hypocricy. One day he says something and the next day he retracts it.”

The Information Minister said Imran has been speaking on daily basis against those who had allegedly rigged the election and got stay orders against election tribunal proceedings. He ( Imran) should now know that Ijaz Chaudhary is also one of them, who had got stay order from the Supreme Court in the fake degree case.”

It is worth to mention that Ijaz Chaudhry had contested election 2013 as an independent candidate from constituency NA- 108 of Mandi Bahauddin.—INP
