Pakistan Observer - - NATIONAL - ISLAMABAD—

Sir Cowasjee Jehangir Institute of Psychiatry Hyderabad Sindh has brought into market a magazine”Mental Health” to inform about issues related to psy-chological well being of the public.

Talking to APP, Dr Abdul Hameed Memon former chief psychiatrist, Government of Sindh Saturday said Mental Health magazine has been published every year.

He said it is a very impor- tant issue and the world ob- serves Mental Health Day every year with commitment to eliminate street related violence and abnormal and disoderly behavior and bring person suffering from mental disorders into the mainstream of the society as useful citizen of the country.

He said the magazine tries to disseminate useful informa- tion in local language but as most doctors do not provide their articles in Sindhi that’s why less arti- cles are published in it.

He said mental health is an important issue as problems related to it are increasing in society and people need in-formation. “The diseases of mental health are increasing in Paki-stan and we need to overcome them,” he added.— APP
