Nawaf Khal­ifeh Ibrahim Saraireh Am­bas­sador, Hashemite King­dom of Jor­dan will open the ex­hi­bi­tion on 25th Novem­ber, 2014 at 4pm.

De­cem­ber 9-11 SDPI is hold­ing a three day 17th Sus­tain­able De­vel­op­ment Con­fer­ence from Tues­day De­cem­ber 9. On Tues­day the con­fer­ence will start at 9:00 a.m. while on Wed­nes­day and Thurs­day de­lib­er­a­tion will be­gin from 9:30 p.m. Venue: Best Western Ho­tel, 6Is­lam­abad Club Road.

As many as 4495 bril­liant and tal­ented stu­dents of Rawalpindi dis­trict were given lap­top com­put­ers here on Satur­day. A lap­top com­put­ers dis­tri­bu­tion cer­e­mony for the stu­dents of Rawalpindi dis­trict, un­der the Chief Min­is­ter’s Youth ini­tia­tive Pro­gram, was held here at Gov­ern­ment Col­lege for Women, 6th Road. Pun­jab Min­is­ter for Labour and Man­power Raja Ash­faq Sar­war was the chief guest, while MNA Tahira Aurangzaib, MPA Raja Hanif, PML-N lead­ers Zia ul­lah Shah, Sar­dar Naseem, Chair­man Board of In­ter­me­di­ate and Sec­ondary Ed­u­ca­tion Rawalpindi Dr Muham­mad Za­reef, Di­rec­tor Col­leges Hamy­oun Iqbal and Deputy Di­rec­tor Col­leges and Sec­re­tary RBISE Rana Javed were present on the oc­ca­sion. Raja Ash­faq Sar­war ad­dress­ing the par­tic­i­pants said that fu­ture of Pak­istan lies in the hands of young gen­er­a­tion as to­day’s youth will lead the coun­try in fu­ture and a great re­spon­si­bil­ity lies on their shoul­ders. The Prime Min­is­ter and Chief Min­is­ter Pun­jab have made sig­nif­i­cant ad­vance­ments for use of In­for­ma­tion Tech­nol­ogy in ed­u­ca­tion sec­tor, he said.

Raja Ash­faq Sar­war said that Pun­jab gov­ern­ment is tak­ing solid steps for wel­fare and up­lift of the youth, es­pe­cially for tal­ented and ed­u­cated lot as the gov­ern­ment con­sid­ers youth as an as­set of the coun­try.

He said young gen­er­a­tion is the cen­tre of Chief Min­is­ter Pun­jab Muham­mad Shah­baz Sharif’s poli­cies and gov­ern­ment wants to im­prove the ca­pa­bil­i­ties of the ed­u­cated youth and pro­vide them higher ed­u­ca­tion fa­cil­i­ties to en­able them play a piv­otal and ac­tive role in the so­cioe­co­nomic de­vel­op­ment of the coun­try.

Provin­cial Min­is­ter said that young boys and girls are show­ing ex­cel­lent re­sults in their ed­u­ca­tional car­ri­ers. He said that ed­u­cated youth can trans­form the so­ci­ety into a de­vel­oped na­tion and the gov­ern­ment is tak­ing prac­ti­cal steps to pro­vide op­por­tu­ni­ties and fa­cil­i­ties for the youth to achieve such ob­jec­tive.

Chief Min­is­ter Pun­jab Muham­mad Shah­baz Sharif has taken var­i­ous steps for en­hanc­ing the op­por­tu­ni­ties of higher ed­u­ca­tion for the stu­dents of low in­come fam­i­lies, he said adding, Muham­mad Shah­baz Sharif es­tab­lished Dan­ish schools, Pun­jab Ed­u­ca­tion En­dow­ment Fund ( PEEF) and pro­vided lap­top com­put­ers to the tal­ented stu­dents for en­cour­age­ment of the po­si­tions holder stu­dents.

He called upon the stu­dents to work hard, es­pe­cially dur­ing ed­u­ca­tional ca­reer and make achieve­ments in life to earn good name for them­selves, their par­ents, teach­ers and na­tion. Ear­lier, a smart con­tin­gent of po­lice pre­sented guard of hon­our to the tal­ented stu­dents.

Mean­while, Pun­jab Min­is­ter for Labour and Man­power Raja Ash­faq Sar­war on Satur­day vis­ited Al-Shifa Hos­pi­tal and handed over a lap­top com­puter to Iqra Ab­basi, a tal­ented stu­dent, who is suf­fer­ing from can­cer. Iqra Ab­basi, 18, a res­i­dent of Tehsil Murree got 948 marks in SSC ex­am­i­na­tion so her name was in­cluded among stu­dents con­sid­ered el­i­gi­ble for lap­top com­puter, but she was un­able to at­tend the cer­e­mony at Gov­ern­ment Post­grad­u­ate Col­lege for Women, Satel­lite Town, Rawalpindi, due to her ill­ness.

Raja Ahs­faq Sar­war along with Raja Muham­mad Hanif, Sar­dar Muham­mad Naseem and Di­rec­tor Col­leges Hamy­oun Iqbal vis­ited Al-Shifa In­ter­na­tional Hos­pi­tal, Is­lam­abad and handed over the gift to Iqra, who thanked Chief Min­is­ter Pun­jab Muham­mad Shah­baz Sharif and Provin­cial Min­is­ter Raja Ash­faq Sar­war on their whole hearted support and en­cour­age­ment. Raja Ash­faq Sar­war prayed for her early re­cov­ery and ap­pre­ci­ated her spirit and moral.
