Lawbreakers including gamblers arrested in police operation
Police under its ongoing drive against anti-social elements have arrested 22 lawbreakers including four suspected dacoits and recovered 5260 grams marijuana, 25 bottles of liquor, three pistols 30 bore with 11 rounds, one pistol 32 bore with three rounds, one repeater pump action and fireworks items from their possession.
According to police spokesman, R.A.Bazar police on an information conducted a raid in Jhawara Ground and nabbed four suspected dacoits namely Qasir Abbas, Nair Abbas, Ijaz and Fayyaz who were allegedly hatching a plan to commit a dacoity.
Police recovered four pistols 30 bore with 33 rounds from them. Other accused were sent behind the bars for having drugs, liquor and illegal weapons.
Meanwhile, police have arrested 13 gamblers and recovered Rs 18560 stake money, 12 mobile phones and other items from their possession.
According to Rawalpindi police spokesman, Waris Khan police acting on a tip-off conducted a raid in Mohalla Hukamdad and nabbed 13 persons namely Azhar, Waqas, Arslan, Zaheer and others who were allegedly involved in betting while playing cards.
Police recovered cash stake money amounting to Rs 18560, 12 mobile phones and other items from their custody.
Police have arrested nine Shisha smokers from the area of New Town Police Station. According to spokesman of Rawalpindi police, New Town Police acting on a tip-off conducted a raid at a Shisha center and arrested nine shisha smokers namely Aqib, Ahmed, Babar, Usama and others. Police also recovered hookahs and other items being used for shisha smoking. —APP
