Summer has set in and this year prediction of temperature is almost 50C. Last year, more than 2000 death were reported due to heat waves. And the most important issue reported in 2015 was lack of doctors, pera medical staff, shortage of water and shortage of medical fascilities in hospitals.

Lack of medical staff in civil and Jinnah hospital has been reported. Private hospitals are so expensive that these are out of the reach of poor people and 60% of Karachi’s population is living under the poverty line. There are only few government hospitals in the city of 20 million population. And among these few hospitals there is acute shortage of medical staff. Government should take premptive action on this account or again get ready for thousands of casualties. —Via email
