Gen Ra­heel, Jor­dan King dis­cuss regional se­cu­rity

AM­MAN–Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen­eral Ra­heel Sharif Tues­day called on Jor­dan’s King Ab­dul­lah, Sa­maa re­ported.

Ac­cord­ing to Di­rec­tor Gen­eral (DG) of In­ter Ser­vices Public Re­la­tions (ISPR) LtGen Asim Ba­jwa, the meet­ing dis­cussed mat­ters of mu­tual in­ter­ests, en­hanced de­fence and se­cu­rity col­lab­o­ra­tion, and regional se­cu­rity.

King Ab­dul­lah ap­pre­ci­ated Pakistan Army’s achieve­ments in fight against ter­ror­ism, ef­forts to pro­mote regional peace and sta­bil­ity, he said.

Ear­lier, Chief of Army Staff, Gen­eral Ra­heel Sharif wit­nessed field ex­er­cise of Jor­da­nian Spe­cial Op­er­a­tions Forces at King Ab­dul­lah Spe­cial Op­er­a­tions train­ing cen­ter, ISPR re­ported.

Gen­eral Ra­heel Sharif ap­pre­ci­ated state of the art train­ing fa­cil­ity and ex­changed views with ex­er­cise par­tic­i­pants.

The army chief vowed to share and ben­e­fit from each other’s ex­pe­ri­ence in counter ter­ror­ism op­er­a­tions. —INP
