Over Rs 29 mil­lion paid as com­pen­sa­tion to af­fectees of Sec­tor E-12

IS­LAM­ABAD—The Sec­re­tary, Min­istry of Cap­i­tal Ad­min­is­tra­tion and De­vel­op­ment Di­vi­sion (CADD) on Tues­day in­formed that com­pen­sa­tion of land amount­ing to Rs. 29,950,642/- paid to af­fectees of Sec­tor E-12.

Brief­ing the Na­tional Assembly stand­ing committee on Govern­ment As­sur­ances which met here un­der the Chair­man­ship of Muham­mad Afzal Khokhar, Mem­ber Na­tional Assembly, he said the to­tal amount payable was Rs. 35,614,297/

Sim­i­larly com­pen­sa­tion of Build Up Award (BUP) amount­ing to Rs. 79,965,461/- has been paid out of to­tal of Rs. 98,590,784/-, he stated. He added that Rs. 5,463,654/- on ac­count of com­pen­sa­tion of land and Rs. 18,625,323/on ac­count of com­pen­sa­tion of Built Up Award (BUP) are un­der process.

He fur­ther in­formed that the rea­son for not start­ing over de­vel­op­ment work in Sec­tor E-12, was that the pos­ses­sion of the land of the above Mouzas could not be re­trieved from the af­fectees as they re­fused to ac­cept the Award and went to the Court of Law for re­dresser of their griev­ances.

Shahzadi Ti­wana, MNA pointed out that Warasti In­te­qal have not been car­ried out yet and com­pen­sa­tion of same has not yet been paid to the af­fectees.

In ad­di­tion, she in­formed that CDA has not yet com­pleted the ac­qui­si­tion pro­ceed­ing nor awarded built up award BUP com­pletely as yet.

The Committee rec­om­mended that al­lot­ment of plots against BUPs to the af­fectees may be pre­sented of Sec­tor E12, in the Board of CDA to re­solve their griev­ances.

The Sec­re­tary, CADD in­formed the Committee that com­pen­sa­tion had since been paid up to the af­fectees of the lo­cal pop­u­la­tion re­sid­ing in Sec­tor E-12.

The Stand­ing Committee rec­om­mended that as and when agenda item per­tain­ing to discussion on the as­sur­ance given by Lt. Gen­eral (Retd) Ab­dul Qadir Baloch, Min­is­ter for States and Fron­tier Re­gions, on the floor of the House on 16th Au­gust, 2013.

The agenda was raised in re­ply to a sup­ple­men­tary ques­tion raised by Sheikh Salahud­din, MNA, whereof, the Min­is­ter had as­sured that reg­is­tra­tion of il­le­gal refugees liv­ing in the sub­urb of Karachi would be car­ried out.

The meet­ing was at­tended by Mem­bers Na­tional Assembly Ab­dul Ma­jeed Khan Khanan Khail, Shahzadi Ti­wana, Chaudhry Muham­mad Mu­nir Azhar, Syed Sa­jid Me­hdi, Ma­lik Ibrar Ahmed, Sar­dar Muham­mad Ir­fan Dogar.

In ad­di­tion, Movers En­gi­neer Us­man Khan Tarakai, MNA, Nighat Parveen Mir, MNA, Zehra Wadood Fatemi MNA and Sher Ak­bar Khan, MNA was also present.
