Metro sta­tion to be op­er­a­tional in two months

PAS for col­lab­o­rat­ing with ISESCO for co-or­ga­niz­ing the event. IS­LAM­ABAD—The Pa­rade Ground Metro bus sta­tion, ran­sacked by the par­tic­i­pants of “Dharna” dur­ing last month would be re­paired and made op­er­a­tional in two months.

An of­fi­cial of Rawalpindi De­vel­op­ment Author­ity (RDA) told APP on Tues­day that the ten­der for the re­pair and ren­o­va­tion of the sta­tion had pro­cessed by the author­ity.

He said that the sta­tion would re­main close till the ren­o­va­tion and re­pair work.

The com­muters us­ing Pa­rade Ground Metro Bus Sta­tion have de­manded that the sta­tion should be re­paired as soon pos­si­ble as they are fac­ing prob­lems due to its clo­sure.

The res­i­dents of twin cities said this is ir­re­spon­si­ble be­hav­iour of cer­tain elements who dam­aged the public prop­er­ties dur­ing their pro­ces­sions and ral­lies for petty gains.

They said that the govern­ment should take strict action against the peo­ple in­volved in such crim­i­nal acts who dam­aged the public prop­er­ties or pri­vately owned ve­hi­cles.

The un­ruly par­tic­i­pants of “Dharna” dur­ing the last March had caused im­mense dam­ages to the newly in­tro­duced bus ser­vice for the gen­eral public com­mut­ing fre­quently be­tween the twin cities at a cost of bil­lions of ru­pees.—APP He noted that ISESCO has been
