Entrepreneurial week starts at NUML
ISLAMABAD—An entrepreneurial week, arranged by the faculty of management sciences started here on Wednesday at National University of Modern Languages (NUML). The event was arranged to provide future entrepreneurs not only with an opportunity to take their maiden flight into wide stretch of business and learn tricks of what actually goes into doing a business but also to reduce the industryacademia gap, More than 70 stalls were established in the Entrepreneurial Week. The participating students came up with innovative ideas and put up a variety of creative works of art and crafts, textile items, books, accessories, jewellery and food for sale, said a press releas here Wednesday.
Rector NUML Major General Zia Uddin Najam (Retd) visited different stalls and appreciate the students’ creative ideas regarding businesses. Director General NUML Brig Riaz Ahmed Gondal, Dean Faculty of Management Sciences Dr. Maqsood ul Hassan, HoD MS Dr. Naveed Akhtar and others were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion Rector NUML Major General Zia Uddin Najam (retd) said that students need to be self-confident and should have an entrepreneurial mindset to execute their business projects in an effective manners in future. The aim of the activity was to help students seek opportunities, obtain finances and to efficiently develop and market new products, he said.
Dean Management Sciences Maqsoodul Hassan while talking to this scribe said that entrepreneurial week is arranged every semester for the students of MBA and BBA as a project work for the subject of ‘Entrepreneurship’. It actually helps students to understand and exercise the concepts like how to initiate an idea and establish a business.
On the other hand it helps students to create jobs for themselves and for others, he added.
