UE sports gala con­cludes

LAHORE—An In­ter Cam­puses Sports and Cul­tural Gala or­ga­nized by Di­rec­torate of Stu­dents Af­fairs, Univer­sity of Ed­u­ca­tion, Lahore con­cluded here at Town­ship cam­pus on Wed­nes­day.

Mem­ber Na­tional Assem­bly Sheikh Ro­hail As­ghar was the chief guest of clos­ing cer­e­mony while Vice Chan­cel­lor Prof.Dr. Rauf-i-Azam and se­nior fac­ulty mem­bers also were present on the oc­ca­sion. In three days long sports and cul­tural gala, dozens of teams from dif­fer­ent cam­puses of var­sity across the Pun­jab par­tici- pated.

Dif­fer­ent games in­clud­ing Cricket, Bed­minton, Tug of War, long and short Race, Ath­let­ics were held while taboos and short plays high­light­ing the re­gional cul­ture of Pak­istan were also pre­sented in gala.

Ad­dress­ing the cer­e­mony, MNA Sheikh Ro­hail As­ghar said that ex­tracur­ric­u­lar ac­tiv­i­ties pol­ish the hid­den cre­ative skills of stu­dents in good man­ner as healthy mind ex­ists only in health body.

He said that sports events turn stu­dents in to con­struc­tive and mean­ing­ful ap­proach of life by avoid­ing them from un­nec­es­sary and use­less ac­tiv­i­ties.

Vice Chan­cel­lor Prof. Dr. Rauf-iAzam, in his ad­dress said that sports and cul­tural gala is a re­mark­able tra­di­tion of univer­sity.

Reg­is­trar Dr. Man­zoom Akhter, Mrs. VC Prof. Dr. Rauf-i-Azam, Direc­tors, Prin­ci­pals, Heads of dif­fer­ent teach­ing and non-teach­ing de­part­ments, teach­ers and a large num­ber of stu­dents were also present at oc­ca­sion.—APP
