Com­mis­sioner asks peo­ple to take pre­cau­tion­ary mea­sures against heat­wave

KARACHI—Com­mis­sioner Karachi, Asif Haider Shah, calls for pre­cau­tion for the next three months in view of any pos­si­bil­ity of heat wave in the metropo­lis.

He was pre­sid­ing over a high level meet­ing in his of­fice on Wed­nes­day in which pre­ven­tive mea­sures against the heat wave were dis­cussed in de­tail.

The Deputy Com­mis­sion­ers were asked to es­tab­lish ‘Sabeels’ in var­i­ous ar­eas in the metropo­lis. In com­mer­cial ar­eas, such Sabeels should also set up in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the traders.

It was pointed out that in case of any fore­cast by the Met Of­fice for heat wave, the First Re­sponse Cen­tres in the city should be ac­ti­vated. Fo­cal per­sons should be ap­pointed to main­tain the re­quired li­ai­son, he added.
