Commissioner asks people to take precautionary measures against heatwave
KARACHI—Commissioner Karachi, Asif Haider Shah, calls for precaution for the next three months in view of any possibility of heat wave in the metropolis.
He was presiding over a high level meeting in his office on Wednesday in which preventive measures against the heat wave were discussed in detail.
The Deputy Commissioners were asked to establish ‘Sabeels’ in various areas in the metropolis. In commercial areas, such Sabeels should also set up in collaboration with the traders.
It was pointed out that in case of any forecast by the Met Office for heat wave, the First Response Centres in the city should be activated. Focal persons should be appointed to maintain the required liaison, he added.
