Butch­ers held for sell­ing ‘stamped’ stale, stink­ing meat

ZHOB—Crack­down against sell­ing of sub­stan­dard, dead and sick an­i­mals’ meat, two butch­ers were ar­rested red handed while sell­ing ‘ver­i­fied’ dead an­i­mal’s meat dur­ing a raid here on Wed­nes­day.

Ac­cord­ing to Levies of­fi­cials, act­ing on a tip-off po­lice and levies party headed by As­sis­tant Com­mis­sioner Ali Ejaz Tawana raided meat mar­ket and found two butch­ers sell­ing stale and stink­ing beef in their shops. “Two butch­ers were ar­rested on the charges of sell­ing dead an­i­mal’s meat. The beef was ver­i­fied and stamped by a vet­eri­nary doc­tor,” said AC Ali Ejaz.
