Health fa­cil­i­ties be­ing en­hanced in Lyari hos­pi­tal: Jam Me­htab

KARACHI—Sindh Min­is­ter for Health, Jam Me­htab Hus­sain Da­har, has said that pro­vin­cial gov­ern­ment is try­ing to pro­vide health care fa­cil­i­ties to the peo­ple of Lyari at Lyari Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal.

This he said while talk­ing to the peo­ple gath­ered there dur­ing his sur­prise visit to Lyari Gen­eral Hos­pi­tal on Thurs­day, said a state­ment. He took se­ri­ous no­tice that there were Echo Ma­chine, Gen­er­a­tor and lift were out of or­der.

He di­rected to pro­vide Echo Ma­chine within 24 hours while gen­er­a­tor and lift should be re­paired at ear­li­est. The Health Min­is­ter also took se­ri­ous no­tice of non-avail­abil­ity of medicines and not per­form­ing of usual med­i­cal tests in the hos­pi­tal.

He di­rected Med­i­cal Su­per­in­ten­dent Lyari Hos­pi­tal Dr. Khalil Pathan to im­prove the sit­u­a­tion within a week oth­er­wise he would take strict ac­tion against him.

While di­rect­ing Dr. An Jim Prin­ci­pal Lyari Med­i­cal Col­lege to en­sure that Gy­nae ward should work round the clock and nor­mal and ce­searan cases be per­formed.

The Min­is­ter also vis­ited the ward spe­cially es­tab­lished for the pa­tients af­fected by heat­stroke and asked the ad­min­is­tra­tion to en­hance ca­pac­ity there and to erect a big shade on the hos­pi­tal premises.

Mean­while, the Sindh Min­is­ter for Health fur­ther di­rected to pro­vide hep­ati­tis screen­ing and vac­ci­na­tion in the hos­pi­tal and en­sure avail­abil­ity of medicines in the hos­pi­tal.

The Health Min­is­ter took no­tice of a large num­ber of quacks in Lyari and di­rected DHO con­cerned to take strict ac­tion against them. Later, he also vis­ited Sha­heed Mo­htarma Be­nazir Bhutto Trauma Cen­tre and in­spected on-go­ing devel­op­ment work on 9th and 13th floor.

On this oc­ca­sion, MS Trauma Cen­tre Dr. Saeed Qureshi and MS civil Hos­pi­tal Dr. Jamie Sid­dique ac­com­pa­nied the Health Min­is­ter.
