Jus­tice to be pro­vided to cit­i­zens at their door steps: Fed­eral Om­buds­man

KARACHI—Ad­vi­sor Fed­eral Om­buds­man Muham­mad Yameen has said that jus­tice is started to pro­vide to cit­i­zens at their own door steps on di­rec­tives of Fed­eral Om­buds­man Sal­man Fa­rooqui. He was ex­press­ing th­ese thoughts at Deputy Com­mis­sioner Malir’s camp of­fice while hear­ing the ap­pli­ca­tions from cit­i­zens agaist K-Elec­tric. He said that is why we have re­ceived hun­dreds of hun­dreds ap­pli­ca­tions against over-billing of K-Elec­tric.

PRO Fed­eral Om­buds­man’s Re­gional Of­fice Behleem Builqees Jan and of­fi­cers of K-Elec­tric were present on this oc­ca­sion. Ad­vi­sor Fed­eral Om­buds­man Muham­mad Yameen said that Fed­eral Om­buds­man is a valu­able au­thor­ity where there is not nec­es­sary to hire lawyers’ ser­vices, they fight their cases them­selves. Ap­pli­cant Asif Ahmed told Ad­vi­sor Fed­eral Om­buds­man Muham­mad Yameen that he works on Rs. 6500 per month while he also has four chil­dren, K-Elec­tric sent him a wrong bill, there­fore pro­vide me jus­tice. Fed­eral Om­buds­man erad­i­cated over bill and or­dered to pay bill in in­stall­ments.

Pe­rus­ing the case of ap­pli­cant Muham­mad Fakhir Sid­diqui, or­dered him to con­tact lo­cal court. Tak­ing ac­tion on same ap­pli­ca­tions of Sher Ali, Muham­mad Adil Ka­mal, Salim Ahmed, Muham­mad Ashraf and Muham­mad Ibrahim, com­plaints were ad­dressed by erad­i­cat­ing over-billing upon which cit­i­zens showed their keen hap­pi­ness and came back mak­ing prayers for Fed­eral Om­buds­man. Be­fore this, K-Elec­tric’s of­fi­cers pre­sented their re­ports to om­buds­man court.
