KP to move judiciary to block Kumar notification
MPAs decline to accept alleged murderer as legislator
PESHAWAR— KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has said that the provincial government is going to move judiciary to block the issuance of the notification of Baldev Kumar, the alleged murderer of Dr. Sardar Soran Singh as member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly by the Election Commission.
Speaking on the floor of the provincial assembly during condolence reference on late PTI MPA Dr. Sardar Soran Singh, the chief minister said that he had consulted the Secretary Law in this regard. He said that clearance from the court they will not accept him as member of the house.
He said that on coming Monday, they will file petition in the court and will appeal it to stop the issuance of his notification as member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He told the house that the Inspector General of Police ( IGP) has said that case of the alleged murderer, Baldev Kumar will be preceded by the AntiTerrorism Court ( ATC).
The chief minister while paying tribute to late Special Assistant said that Sardar Soran Singh was an asset of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. He said that manner through which he was killed is unimaginable. He said that he had condemned the murder of Sardar Soran Singh several times and has also visited district two times in this regard.
He said that during last three years several of their parliamentary colleagues becomes victims of terrorism, but the case of Sardar Soran Singh is of unique nature. He said that due to his good performance and friendly nature late Soran Singh have turned all people into his friends and the vacuum created due to his murder will be felt for long.
The chief minister said that late Sardar Soran Singh was belonging to a poor family and assured that the provincial government will announce relief package for the bereaved family within next three to four days. The house later also observed one- minute silence to pay homage to late Sardar Soran Singh. Meanwhile, Members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Friday vowed not to accept Baldev Kumar, the alleged murderer of PTI legislator Sardar Soran Singh as member of the provincial assembly and threatened boycott the administering of his oath in the house.
The members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly were addressing a condolence reference of the provincial assembly to mourn the death of their minority colleague. The session of the officially summoned session of the house began proceedings with Speaker Asad Qaiser in the chair. The day was reserved for paying homage to the late minority legislator.
The members of the house have also com- mended the performance of DIG Malakand Region Azad Khan and DPO Buner, Khalid Hamdani for apprehending the alleged murderers in the period of 48 hours and have demanded the conferring of awards on them. Furthermore, the legislators have also demanded the announcement of a relief package for his family.
