Rs131.6m dis­trib­uted among af­fectees of op­er­a­tion Rah- e- Ni­jat

TANK— The gov­ern­ment has started pay­ing com­pen­sa­tion to af­fectees of op­er­a­tion Rah- e- Ni­jat and dis­trib­uted Rs 131.6 mil­lion cheques among the af­fected peo­ple on Fri­day.

In a cer­e­mony held in Ladha Sub- di­vi­sion of South Waziris­tan, As­sis­tant Political Agent Sahibzada Na­jibul­lah dis­trib­uted cheques among the af­fected peo­ple. Of­fi­cials of Pak Army and tribal elders also present in the cer­e­mony.

The gov­ern­ment had paid Rs 0.4 mil­lion to each owner of com­pletely de­stroyed house, while Rs 96.4 mil­lion were dis­trib­uted among owner of 220 partly dam­aged houses. Speak­ing on the oc­ca­sion it was in­formed that so far 4,000 dis­placed fam­i­lies to their na­tive ar­eas.— APP
