India to serve notice on those named in Panama Papers
NEW DELHI— The Indian Government is taking action against those whose names appeared in Panama Papers.
“The government is taking all necessary steps on the issue of tax evasion and notice is being served on those whose names figure in the Panama Papers leaks”, Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said in the Lok Sabha on Friday.
The minister’s statement came during question hour when members, including Nana Patole and Kirit Somiaya and B. Mahtab asked supplementary on the tax evasion issue.
Mr. Jaitley, however, told the members that any individual case could not be discussed in the house. — Agencies
