RCB seals 35 shops of tax de­fault­ers

RAWALPINDI— The Rawalpindi Can­ton­ment Board ( RCB) en­force­ment team in a crack­down against prop­erty tax de­fault­ers on Fri­day sealed 35 shops in dif­fer­ent ar­eas.

RCB spokesman talk­ing to APP in­formed that RCB re­cov­ery team sealed shops in dif­fer­ent ar­eas for non- pay­ment of prop­erty tax amount­ing to Rs 2.7 mil­lion.

The sealed shops would be de- sealed when the to­tal tax ar­rears would be cleared, he added.

He fur­ther said, RCB un­der its spe­cial cam­paign have dis­con­nected 40 water con­nec­tions from its ar­eas due to non­pay­ment of dues.

He said, on the spe­cial di­rec­tive of Can­ton­ment Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer ( CEO) Dr. Saima Shah, cam­paign to re­cover water charges has been ac­cel­er­ated.

The res­i­dents have been warned that stern ac­tion would be taken against tax de­fault­ers. Spe­cial teams have also been formed to check il­le­gal con­nec­tions, he added.— APP
